MABC REAL BRIDGE EVENTS
We are reassessing our RealBridge session days due to low numbers, therefore there is no bridge on Sundays at this stage. Check back soon for more updates. You can also kibitz these sessions and any other ones by clicking the Kibitz link.
Session Fees
Members
Please support these events as much as possible. A great deal of work has gone into making sure Bridge has still been on offer during this long, difficult period. (For example, apart from Paul and KC as Directors, Suzy Hails has been ensuring we have links for those who wish to kibitz, and Carol Bearsley has put a lot of time into adapting the voucher system to make sure paying “table-money” is an easy process).
Frankly, participation rates have been a little disappointing at times.
Remember that many people are available to help if you still have concerns about the technology.
A fee of $5 per session applies – as outlined in the last newsletter
Non Members
For those that a not members of our club, the price will be $5 per session. This can be deposited into our bank account (email us via the contact page for this), please put your name as a reference, and contact us if you want to play on a regular basis.
How to join the tournament on Real Bridge
RealBridge is an internet site where you can play bridge. It is similar to BBO which you are probably more familiar with, but you can see and talk to the other players at the table using the camera and microphone on your device (laptop, tablet, computer, not smart phone the screens are just too small). You can still play without the video and audio if you don’t have it.
To join these sessions just click one of the blue buttons above, at least 15 minutes before the start time. There is no need to pre-register. Everyone is welcome to play. When you log in you must enter your full name and NZ Bridge number if you have one. If you haven’t played on RealBridge before there is some preparation you should do – read the Guide and perform the Camera and Audio test below.
Need A Partner
Log into Real Bridge 15mins before the session starts, stay in the LOBBY and use the chat box to write to the Director you need a partner. The Director will assist you.
BBO
With the assistance of Paul, KC and Lance Bowden, Mt Albert and Papatoetoe will continue to run Thursday night sessions on BBO, starting at 6:30pm. Mt Albert will be the host every second week.
If you have not played in one of these events before, please register with BBO at least 24 hours prior through our website here.
This will avoid any disappointment and last-minute messages to the director, asking to be admitted – as this is not always possible.
